Cloth Face Masks

Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, Sunshine for Claire has expanded its Hope Wear Collection to include reusable cloth face masks for families facing pediatric cancer or other childhood life-threatening illnesses.

CDC Recommendations

Sunshine for Claire recommends utilizing the CDC's guide to the use of Cloth Face Masks Some of the important information is provided below, but we encourage you to thoroughly review CDC guidelines and speak to your provider should you have any questions or concerns.

When to use it

Wear cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission. 

Who should NOT use it

Cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance. 

How often to wash

The CDC recommends washing the mask frequently, as often as it's used. 

How to safely remove the mask

Individuals should be careful not to touch their eyes, nose, and mouth when removing their face covering and wash hands immediately after removing.
