Sunshine from Claire is our way to give directly to children, siblings, and caregivers affected by childhood cancer. With care packages, help connecting families with local resources, and promoting the stories of families currently battling, we hope to help bring a little bit of sunshine for those touched by childhood cancer.
Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), is a terminal brain stem cancer. Because of its location, surgery is not an option, and the average life expectancy after diagnosis (6-9 months) has not changed in over 80 years. The main issue is finding pediatric safe drugs that penetrate the blood-brain barrier. Because of this, our main goal is to raise funds for pediatric brain cancer research, particularly DIPG.
Our key to success rests within our community. Without their support, we cannot raise awareness and funding for our efforts, and we want to give back. Through strong community partnerships, we hope to provide local college scholarships and to help foster the community that gave Claire so much during her time with us on Earth.
